The Problem
Our wish for our second and third grade Roots and Shoots after school enrichment students is to learn the value of agriculture in our community and its connection to their daily lives.
Our Plan
Using coloradofarmtoschool.org curriculum and dug.org curriculum our students will have the opportunity to explore the connection to health and wellness in our community. In addition realizing the value of the personal reciprocity of how agriculture impacts their daily lives. Through seasonal lessons students will have hands-on opportunities to learn about agriculture through the year. Students will be "nutrition detectives", able to recognize crops grown locally, and will share their knowledge within their community (their school).
