Youth who wish to work on climate change related topics are often discouraged by the emotional toll of such work including stress, eco-anxiety, depression, and burnout. Youth who are already working in this space sometimes are ill-prepared for the emotional challenges too due to a lack of emotional resilience training at the workplace.
Our group is offering free Climate Courage Workshops twice per month, with 2 sessions each, for 10 youth at a time, to teach them strategies and skills to courageously cope with their emotions. The small workshop cohort size allows for intimate conversation and community-building. We have run two workshops thus far and have 3 more planned, with full seats. In conjunction, we are also organizing a monthly webinar series, Express Yourself!, welcoming artists to discuss how they use the arts to express themselves and their emotions.
