This was a great program to cap off our Citizen Science series! We explored Sci Starter as well as some favorite citizen science projects.
A way to search for projects to participate in. We also learned about the animals in our own yards and existing projects we could potentially join based on the animals we are interested in.
I might make the time slot longer as we ran over time. There was a lot of welcome discussion!
I loved the enthusiasm of the participants! Everyone had at least one thing they were excited about and everyone took turns sharing and telling stories. Some great questions arose and there was a lot of food for thought and inspiration for future projects/programs. I was pleasantly surprised by all the note-takers writing down lists of citizen science projects to explore!
Check out www.scistarter.org to take part in existing citizen science projects! Some of my favorites: eBird NestWatch and for those in Floridia - https://myfwc.com/get-involved/volunteer/citizen-science/
