The Problem

The Willow Roots & Shoots Club's wish was to create a Christmas celebration for children from families that are currently homeless to not only ensure they have a fun Christmas, but also to demonstrate that they are part of a greater community that cares for each other.

Our Plan

Our club was given use of a community room at the local Salvation Army. The members transformed the room into a Christmas wonderland. They served dinner that consisted of submarine sandwiches (donated from a local business), chip, cupcakes, juice and hot chocolate with marshmallow. While Christmas carols played int he background the club members manned their boothes which offered crafts, games, and face painting. The members then distributed individually chosen gifts to their 55 guests.
