The Problem

Hope Valley Farm, where our outdoor classroom lives, is a living ecosystem we share with gratitude. As drought conditions increasingly affect our area, we are deeply aware of our responsibility not to deplete the farm's water supply, a resource the land and its farmers depend on. Water is central to our children's daily experience, from washing hands before snack to playing in the mud kitchen. Out of respect for this shared resource, we purchased rain barrels to collect and use rainwater responsibly. We are seeking $250 to complete installation and add protective barriers for student safety. This project is rooted in our belief that caring for the environment starts with the small, daily choices we model for children.

Our Plan

Wild Sprouts seeks $250 to complete a rain barrel installation at our outdoor classroom on Hope Valley Farm. Located in a drought-prone area with no independent water source, we depend on the farm's supply for handwashing, snack prep, and our beloved mud kitchen. Barrels are purchased; funding will cover installation and protective barriers to prevent student access and equipment damage. This system directly reduces our environmental footprint, teaches children real-world water conservation, and safeguards the hands-on, nature-based learning that defines our program.
