We wish to help a local member of our community assemble care packages for cancer patients. She is currently facing this battle and is very grateful for all the comforts that she has received. This project would help gather items to fill packages for cancer patients during and after their treatment sessions.
Our project will help to fill totes that are then given to cancer patients. We will have the children who attend library programs participate in this service learning project. They will help to shop for, purchase the items, write messages of caring and assemble the totes. We have completed other projects with great success and teaching children that community service is part of being in a community is a great life lesson.
