The Problem
We want to educate our students about where their food comes from, the mileage that it travels to be on their plate, and how to be conscious consumers. We also want to educate about Farmer's Markets and buying locally.

We will map where the ingredients for a typical cooking class comes from. We will calculate the miles and illustrate their trip on our map. We will then identify farmers from our local farmer's market that could supply these ingredients. We will calculate these miles and compare with the original ingredients. Using our grant money, we will start supporting these local farmers and sourcing our ingredients from them.
