The Problem

Building a community garden will help in several ways. My class started the year out raising and releasing butterflies. The activity underscored the importance of pollinators. Not only that but the placement of the garden would greatly enhance the grounds. There is nothing, NOTHING, in this grassy area between the two wings of our high school. This is a long-term project. We are in the process of acquiring two trees to plant in the same general area to help support the local wildlife and increase the scenery for students and community to enjoy.

Our Plan

The action we are planning is to build four raised beds, plant several small trees, and eventually get some tables for students to use for outdoor classes. This is a long-term project. We know it won't all happen at once but we need to start somewhere. The trees are in the works. The raised beds are next.
