Here is how the project went:
Students are super excited for the garden season. We were able to start project planning for the spring and fall. Students are completing demo projects and are putting together workshop plans to host in the community throughout the year. Students are working on projects addressing how plants improve the classroom environment, building bug houses and the importance of garden bugs, water usage and waste in the garden and are creating a website of resources to share with our community.
Through this project I/we learned:
The importance of planning ahead, how great collaboration can be especially when you’re in a tight spot.
What I/we might change:
The number of projects that we focus on to make sure we can dedicate enough time to planning and gathering resources for each.
My/our favorite part of this project was:
Collaborating and having students share out their goals and plans for productive feedback from their classmates.
Some tips, tricks or fun facts about the project:
If you’re working with students, give them choice for the projects, they are more dedicated when they can choose and are interested in their work.
