The Problem

The problem we want to fix is the lack of access to fruits and vegetables in our school's community as well as the disconnect this creates between students and the foods they eat. The other issue this project seeks to address is the lack of safe outdoor spaces in our community.

Our Plan

We are planning to take action by renovating our existing perennial garden to including vegetables that the students will plant, tend to, and harvest. The vegetables will then be distributed to families with information about the project, the vegetables, and how best to prepare/eat them. The garden itself will also become a safe outdoor space for students, families, and community members to enjoy.
