Bombs Away . . . SEEDS to the Rescue!

The Problem

With our Title I fifth-grade students, we're hoping to develop a greater understanding of, appreciation for, and stronger sense of environmental stewardship for native plants and pollinators throughout our community; subsequently, we intend to reinforce their relational impact on conservation awareness efforts supported both by our zoo and around the world.

Our Plan

The students will each make several "seed bombs" utilizing natural materials and native seeds. After drying, the seeds will be tossed into selected areas around the zoo and at their respective schools. Areas will be monitored for growth, plant/flower identification and pollinator activity.
