The Problem
We want to change climate inaction.
We want to change climate inaction.
We want to make the social issues resonante within a general population by connecting them to the arts in our benefit concert to inspire action within our community.
This event raised over $800 in profit, 100% was donated to Sierra Club. 5 bands were able to perform and there were booths of environmental clubs where the attendees learned more about environmental issues through art projects.
We learned how to plan a large event and the amount of coordination that goes into planning such an event. There is so much logistics surrounding the order, decorations, activities, food, and more. But ultimately, we learned how to overcome such complications and work together to create such a wonderful celebration of our planet.
We might publicize it more and start publicizing it earlier.
Our favorite part was seeing the joy on everyone's faces during this event. It felt extremely rewarding to see a project we worked towards for months come alive. Everyone seemed to have learned more about the environment while celebrating the arts, and in this way, we were successful in our goal!
I would recommend to start planning ahead and booking a space to hold the event at least 8 months in advance to ensure that everything runs smoother on the day of the event. I would say to also get more initial funding than you need to make more profit.
