We would like to raise awareness in younger students about the global need for clean water and fresh food that is grown locally and sustainably. Alverno students have spent a lot of time studying aquaponics and building aquaponics systems and we would love to pass on our knowledge to younger students.
Science Club Students will visit local elementary and middle schools to educate students about aquaponics and the global need for sustainable food production and clean water conservation. We will demonstrate how to build a simple aquaponics systems and provide schools with inexpensive materials and seeds to get them started.
