The Problem

We want to reduce the amount of food waste on campus.

Our Plan

We are planning to place compost collection buckets near trashcans around campus. The contents of these buckets will be used in our garden compost, which is in need of nitrogen rich green matter. The few bins we already have on campus are being used, but we need to collect more food scraps as most still end up in the trash. Along with the bins, we will develop an education program to teach the campus community about what they can put in the buckets and why it matters.
