The Discovery Film Festival is an international youth directed environmental film festival that showcases film directed by youth 18 and under with a live screening at a museum or other distinguished establishment that is free and open to the public. Thanks to past Roots & Shoots mini-grants, this year will be our 3rd anniversary. We have received over 500 environmental films collectively for the previous festivals and screened over 24 films. We also offer filmmaking lessons for the purposes of entering a film in the festival. The directors must address an environmental issue in their own communities and usage of the Roots & Shoots project model is encouraged. This film festival has received recognition from the New Jersey State Legislature. *** Please see our links for photos as we could not upload them to this page.
