The Problem

Families staying at the Ballard House are often there because a loved one is receiving medical treatment, which can be an extremely stressful and emotional time. Many families feel overwhelmed, worried, and far from their normal support systems while caring for someone who is sick. During these difficult moments, small acts of kindness and encouragement can make a meaningful difference. We want to help address the emotional stress and isolation these families may experience by sharing messages of kindness, encouragement, and support to remind them that their community is thinking of them and cares about what they are going through.

Our Plan

We created over 60 handmade cards filled with kind messages, words of encouragement, and uplifting artwork for the families staying at the Ballard House. Each card was personalized with positive notes and supportive sentiments to help brighten their day and show that they are not alone during this challenging time. Our team organized crafting sessions, gathered supplies, and coordinated with Ballard House staff to ensure the cards reached the families safely and effectively.
