We throw away so many used crayons. We want to recycle those crayons into new usable ones.

Here is how the project went:

We collected, cleaned and sorted over 30lbs of crayons to make new crayons that we distributed to several schools in Brooklyn.

Through this project I/we learned:

We learned recycling is easy and can make other happy.

What I/we might change:

Enlist the help of teachers who at the end of the school year throw away so much stuff.

My/our favorite part of this project was:

Seeing the kindergartners faces when they got a new crayon

It takes about 8 broken crayons to make one new crayon in the molds we used
