The Problem
The prairie restoration crew aims to reverse the loss of native grasslands, which have been rapidly disappearing due to urban development, agriculture, and invasive species. These prairies once supported rich biodiversity, stored carbon, and protected soil from erosion. Without them, ecosystems collapse, pollinators vanish, and water cycles falter. Restoring native plants helps rebuild these systems from the roots up. We want to replace turf and weeds with deep-rooted natives that nourish wildlife, improve soil health, and hold the land together. By restoring prairies, we bring balance back to the landscape and resilience back to the environment.
