The Problem

Our project focuses on addressing the harmful effects of ocean pollution—especially how everyday products like soap and fertilizers can contribute to toxic algae blooms and domoic acid, which hurt seals, sea lions, and pelicans.

Our Plan

Creating and distributing an educational activity book for kids that explains ocean pollution and domoic acid in a fun, simple way • Building an interactive display to take to schools, events, and lemonade stands to show how pollution runs off into the ocean • Promoting eco-friendly choices by providing examples of biodegradable and organic household products • Hosting fundraising events like lemonade stands and art sales, where we’re painting tiles with dolphins and sea lions to raise money and awareness • Donating proceeds to organizations like the Marine Mammal Center and the Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center in Huntington Beach Our goal is to teach other kids and families that small choices can make a big difference. By learning together and taking action, we hope to protect marine animals and inspire more young changemakers to care for the Earth and each other.
