The Problem
Litter is everywhere — hiding along fences, sidewalks, ditches, and parking lots. We see it, feel annoyed, and keep walking. But every piece of trash that gets ignored eventually ends up in our waterways, forests, or the bellies of wildlife. 🌿The problem we want to fix is disconnection from responsibility. We assume “someone else” will clean it up. But the truth is, we’re all someone. 🌿When we take ownership of one small area — a sidewalk, a park corner, a schoolyard, or a storm drain — we shift from frustration to stewardship. The world doesn’t need heroes. It needs neighbors who care about their block.
Our Plan
For one month, each participant or family will “adopt” one outdoor area near their home to keep clean and cared for. Each week, you will: 🌿Walk their chosen area (yard, street corner, park path, bus stop, etc.). 🌿Pick up trash, recyclables, or debris. 🌿Notice patterns — what kinds of items appear most often, and why. 🌿Share one reflection or photo showing their efforts to inspire others. 🌿Optional add-ons: 🌿Track the number of bags collected. 🌿Add kindness notes or painted rocks to brighten the space. 🌿Involve neighbors or classmates for a mini cleanup day. 🌿This is about ownership, not overwhelm — one space, one family, one ripple of change. 🌿 Why It Matters 🌿Because small, consistent care adds up. 🌿Because when people take pride in their surroundings, they protect them. 🌿Because clean spaces create calm minds and safer homes for wildlife. 🌿It’s not about cleaning the whole planet — it’s about starting where you stand.
