The Problem

Many of the local farmers/ranchers do not know about new technology (such as drones) that would save them money on their property while at the same time, help reduce emissions and pollution from over-spreading fertilizer and pesticides.

Our Plan

We will purchase a drone, learn about our local environment and how to use the drone and then talk to groups of farmer/ranchers about how easy it is to use. By talking about the time and money they save, we feel certain several will adopt this technology.

Here is how the project went:

This project went great! 25 students learned about how to use a drone in an agriculture setting in order to save gas, man power and cut back on chemical uses.

Through this project I/we learned:

We can help the environment in a fairly simple way

What I/we might change:

Make sure the drones are charged ALL the way before showing them to the students!

My/our favorite part of this project was:

The students were really excited to go outside and learn how to fly the drones. I love seeing them excited about learning.

Some tips, tricks or fun facts about the project:

Using drones is a great way to save money on a farm/ranch. Less 4-wheeler/vehicle use, better able to check crops/animals with less man hours and less need for fertilizer/pesticides by knowing exactly where the need is.
