The Problem
Coming from a low-income South Los Angeles community I had never received a lesson on how to navigate professional environments. Because of this, I had zero belief in my ability to succeed in spaces like these. I knew I had the passion and the ideas, but I didn’t have the confidence and preparation. This is the reality for many of the young women in my community, and it’s the experience that inspired me to start Career Closet, a student-led organization designed to bridge the gap between underserved young women and access to professional development and attire!
