The Problem

Miami’s beaches are a vital part of the city’s environment, economy, and community life—but they face a growing pollution problem. Litter, plastic waste, and other debris are constantly washing ashore or being left behind by visitors, harming marine life and threatening the natural beauty that defines our coastline. This pollution not only damages ecosystems but also affects tourism, local businesses, and the health of residents. A beach cleanup is necessary to protect our environment and preserve Miami’s shores for future generations. By taking action, we can help restore the cleanliness and safety of our beaches while raising awareness about the importance of keeping our oceans and communities clean.

Our Plan

We plan to address this issue by organizing community beach cleanups across Miami’s shoreline. Our goal is to bring together volunteers, local organizations, and environmental groups to remove trash and debris that pollute the beaches and harm marine life. In addition to cleaning, we will focus on education and awareness—teaching residents and visitors about the impact of littering and the importance of protecting our coastal ecosystems. We will also work with the City of Miami and local waste management programs to ensure proper disposal and recycling of collected materials. By combining hands-on cleanup efforts with community outreach, we aim to make a lasting difference in keeping Miami’s beaches clean, safe, and beautiful for everyone.
