Joshua combats economic disparities through impactful community service, advocacy, and photography.
Joshua’s main focus is addressing diaper poverty, including leading a successful lobbying effort to eliminate the diaper tax in Maryland, saving families $12 million annually.
Joshua’s organization, Kid Changemakers, works to empower youth to serve their communities. One of his central efforts is hosting monthly pop-up pantry events to provide free diapers and food to under-resourced families in his area. He also frequently volunteers at a local senior center, further highlighting his commitment to community aid and betterment.
In high school, Joshua is a member of the National Honor Society and his school’s Photo Club. Fostering a newfound passion for photography, Joshua frequently volunteers as a photographer at community events. This past year, Josh participated in and won Disney Dreamers for his advocacy and service work. For fun, Joshua likes to play basketball and tennis.
Joshua offers encouraging words to other changemakers saying, “Don’t let a “no” stop you. You may feel discouraged but change requires perseverance.”
