Esha models compassionate leadership, inspiring more youth to take action and serve their community.
Working with four peers, Esha created the Youth Bridge Builders group, which seeks to help under-resourced communities.
Esha aims to engage more teens in community service while improving outreach and sustainability practices. She does this by organizing monthly events focused on fighting hunger like hosting sandwich-making assembly lines to donate to those experiencing food insecurity, and packing backpacks with snacks and supplies for distribution at under-resourced schools. In her recent Roots & Shoots project, Esha collected, refurbished and redistributed old laptops and computers to community members who could not afford to buy one.
Currently in high school, Esha competes in cross-country and track, and participates in the Indian Cultural Society, where she celebrates and shares her heritage through dance performances. Honing her public speaking skills, Esha is also in Model UN and on her school’s debate team.
Esha reflects: “Roots & Shoots helps me turn my ideas into meaningful action, while also providing opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and learn from their experiences.”
