David is a prolific volunteer, student leader, tutor, and a champion in Speech and Debate. He has been an active member of Roots & Shoots for four years and involves himself in a range of impactful projects.
His favorite service project, KINO Teens – NYC Chapter, took him to the border during the summer of 2023, where he witnessed disparities in the country’s immigration system. This experience fueled his commitment to working with and advocating for migrants.
David’s ongoing Roots & Shoots projects address the global migration and refugee crisis, education reform, advocacy through art, and the study/clean-up of coastal areas.
These long-term initiatives reflect David’s dedication to making a lasting impact.
David loves the arts—from musicals and jazz to sonnets and videography. His family, culture, and identity inspire him to fight for just immigration policies and love for all communities.
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s quote, “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye,” encapsulates David’s approach to activism.
