Anna embodies a lifelong commitment to environmental and social causes. Since donating her Christmas money to a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser in third grade, Anna has championed STEM education and environmental activism for six years and now studies environmental engineering in college.
Anna currently promotes accessible at-home composting and gardening by recycling plastic waste into 3D filament to create small-scale keyhole gardens.
The effort explores the interconnections of environmental issues—addressing food insecurity, food waste, and plastic pollution.
In her free time, Anna is a viola player, singer, and app developer for domestic abuse resources. Her love for cooking, experimentation with recipes, and knitting while watching sci-fi shows round out her diverse interests.
Of her hope for the future, Anna says: “I believe that having hope is the most radical way we can work towards an equitable and sustainable future because if we stop believing, we no longer have a reason to fight.”
