Anna embodies a lifelong commitment to environmental and social causes, focusing on youth empowerment and accessibility.
Anna’s key initiatives are Garbage Gardens, which turns recycled plastic into modular gardening systems, and piloting composting programs in schools.
They are also working to start an environmental youth activism network in Atlanta and to develop toolkits to make environmental education accessible for special needs classrooms.
Even as a busy college student, Anna is also an active member of the Roots & Shoots Basecamp in Atlanta, supporting area Roots & Shoots events.
Outside of Roots & Shoots, Anna studies environmental engineering, serves as a Teams for Tech Fellow, and interns with the Atlanta Beltline Partnership. They love thrifting, writing music, and experimenting with gluten-free vegan recipes.
Anna remarks: “Having hope is the most radical way we can work towards an equitable and sustainable future because if we stop believing, we no longer have a reason to fight.”
