Earth Week: Pitch-In and Clean Up the Park

  • Location
    Mississauga, Ontario
  • Status
    Active

The Problem

To kick-off 'No.More.Plastic.' global collaborative project students participated in a 'Trash Hunt.' Students walked to the local Meadowvale Conservation area to take part in a, park clean-up, sponsored by Tim Hortons ''Pitch-In Week" campaign. This initiative is part of the geography program, where students are learning to create service-learning plans of action outlining how people can contribute to more sustainable environments. If we do this garbage clean-up for two years in a row, we've been notified by the City of Mississauga that we may 'Adopt the Conservation Area.'

Our Plan

Students participated in an initiative to clean up our local environment. Students walked to the park to take part in this activity and clean up the park. Plastic gloves and garbage bags were provided by Tim Hortons.
