Diversity Awareness Week- Presentation on Animal Discrimination

  • Location
    Greenwich, Connecticut
  • Status
    Active

The Problem

To hold a presentation partnered with a local adoption center, Adopt-A-Dog, and raise awareness on the discrimination that certain animals face in shelters due to their color or breed. We hope that through this presentation we will end the myths surrounding these animals and have them gain allies against the stigma the media perpetuates.

Our Plan

I will reach out to a local adoption center, Adopt-A-Dog, and organize an hour long presentation on animal discrimination as part of Diversity Awareness Week, a week celebrating and empowering young people to realize the power in unity and inclusiveness amongst people in a variety of areas. This presentation will present background on animal discrimination for certain dog breeds, be interactive for students to gain a better understanding of this issue by asking questions, and leave students enlightened and questioning their previous ingrained views on certain animals.
