The Problem

On Peace Day, we honor Jane Goodall and celebrate in a way that I believe she would truly appreciate: by coming together as a community, caring for one another, and taking small actions to help our planet.we are also celebrating each one of us. We are celebrating the belief that every person has the power to make a difference. Jane reminded us that meaningful change does not always begin with something big it often begins with one small action, one thoughtful choice, and one person who decides to care. When we put all of those small actions together, they can create a powerful and lasting impact on our world.

Our Plan

Our Roots & Shoots students planned a beautiful Peace Day event, bringing our school community together around a giant dove they helped create. We walked together around the school and joined Dana Lyons in singing Circle the World, a joyful reminder that when we come together, even small actions can help create a more peaceful and caring world.
