The Problem
Our group is part of the Bridge to the Future scholarship program at CSUN, which supports Canoga Park High School students through academics, leadership, and community service. For our project, we want to bring back the tradition of decorating small planting pots to give away during our free produce distributions, held every second and last Friday of the month. We believe this is important because many families in our community enjoy receiving items that encourage healthy habits and gardening at home. We will purchase, decorate, and prepare the pots to hand out alongside fresh produce. This project will serve local families, especially children, by promoting gardening, environmental awareness, and responsibility. By encouraging people to grow plants, our project supports a greener community while creating a fun and meaningful experience for everyone who attends the produce distributions.
