The Problem

Our group, the Youth Visionary Collective (YVC), part of the U.S.-based nonprofit Roots & Routes IC (Intercultural Collaborations), is a global network of youth serving as 10-week seasonal interns. The primary problem we address is two-fold: 1) Historic alienation of youth from decision-making and 2) Amplifying Indigenous and Ancestral peoples.

Our Plan

The 20-25 interns (depending on the season) work in five teams to complete self-directed tasks that further our mission: to facilitate sharing knowledge between cultures en route to responsibly stewarding a flourishing Living World. The YVC addresses international issues involving people, environment (forests destruction and river pollution), and rights of nature (why all animals and plants matter). Simultaneously, in all-YVC meetings, interns discuss local problems and solutions while providing support and hope to one another.
