The Problem
Our student-led group is tackling the dual problem of extreme climate change and local habitat loss caused by under-utilized school grounds. Right now, this unused campus land is an ecological dead zone that fails to capture carbon or support native wildlife. By transforming this significant portion of barren land into a native tallgrass prairie, we are turning a localized problem into an active solution for carbon sequestration and biodiversity loss. This restoration establishes a critical habitat for threatened pollinators while providing a thriving, immersive outdoor classroom to solve the lack of hands-on environmental education in our community.
