The Problem

We want to fix period poverty in Sacramento County and El Dorado County, as well as ensure our school is properly following the law (AB367) requiring public schools in California to provide free menstrual products.

Our Plan

As an extended branch of the Providing Menstrual Products to Women in Need Project, we are planning to collect and donate menstrual products to food banks, homeless shelters, women's shelters, and other distributor sites in our annual Hygiene Drive. These products are distributed across multiple counties in the state, helping improve access to menstrual care for those in need. While doing so, we also hope to expand our school dispenser system providing menstrual products in individual bathroom stalls (the Bathroom Box Project) and supply a wider range of eco-friendly products. (tampons, menstrual cups, etc.) Guided by student experiences and interviews, we work to make our district a more inclusive and equitable space.
