The Problem
My school used to have a pond. It was a small stock-tank pond with fish, turtles, and sometimes cute little frogs. Then our district didn\\\'t have any more money. Maplewood almost closed, and we had to fight to keep the school open long enough to reach its 75th birthday next year. When there wasn’t money left for the pond, the pond company came and took the tank away. Now it\\\'s an empty spot, and my class and I really miss it. Animals need somewhere to live, and we have over 400 students who could learn a lot from it (especially the kindergarteners and first graders, who would love to put their fingers in it).
