The Problem
The Association for Nature-Based Education (ANBE) is working with our learning lab at Notchcliff Nature Programs to support declining insect populations, especially important pollinators like bees, butterflies, moths, and fireflies. In Maryland where we are based, many of these species are disappearing due to habitat loss, urban growth, and pesticide use. To help, we’re enhancing a pollinator garden filled with native flowers and shrubs. This space will provide food and shelter for pollinators while also bringing our community together. Children, families, and seniors will all take part in planting and caring for the garden during service days. By working together, we can create a thriving habitat that supports wildlife and helps restore balance to our local ecosystem.
