The Problem
More than ever, what the world needs now, is love sweet love. In order to give compassionate attention to humanity's shared problems, including our global mental health epidemic, we must be skilled in giving compassionate support to ourselves. Self-compassion might not come naturally to many of us but it is a skill that can, like good handwork, be crafted to endure for a lifetime. And, also like handwork, self-compassion is best practiced in community, so we are stitching it all together in one epic Valentine's Day crafternoon!
Our Plan
Love in the Crafternoon is a one day workshop that helps people of all ages find out what phrases of loving kindness and support they've most needed to hear in life (which is an incredibly important part of learning how to be more self-compassionate). We will spend our time crafting a gift of these phrases that we can keep for ourselves and use to practice self-compassion through the year. And, since so many of us need to hear very similar words of encouragement, we will spend time crafting anonymous valentines with our found phrases to be sprinkled about our neighborhoods/town on February 14th.
