The Problem
Discrimination is something many people face every day, whether it’s because of their race, gender, who they love, or just because they are different. Racism, sexism, and homophobia all make people feel left out, judged, or even unsafe. When this happens, it doesn’t just hurt the person, it hurts the whole community because it divides people and makes it harder for us to work together. No one should feel like they don’t belong simply for being themselves.
Our Plan
A good way to start is by building a culture of inclusion, where differences are celebrated instead of criticised. Students can take action by creating awareness campaigns like posters that share positive messages about respect and equality. We can also organise small projects, like a “kindness challenge” to encourage standing up against discrimination. Most importantly, we can set an example by refusing to laugh at offensive jokes, including people who feel left out, and speaking up when someone is being treated unfairly. By taking these steps together, we can create a community that values everyone equally.
