The Problem

Rice’s whale is one of the most endangered whales in the world, with fewer than 50 left in the Gulf of Mexico. Most people have never heard of them, which makes it more difficult to protect them. I am working to raise awareness through education so more people understand the threats they face and how we can help. Without action, this species could disappear forever.

Our Plan

The Rice’s Whale Youth Artivism Workshop aims to engage and empower young people through the intersection of art and environmental activism to protect the critically endangered Rice’s whale — one of the rarest marine mammals on Earth, endemic to the Gulf of Mexico. Through education, and creating post cards geared towards saving the Rice Whales these youth will become informed environmental stewards and active voices for marine conservation.
