From a young age, Cash has been committed to freshwater conservation and sustainability.
Cash’s main project involves hosting monthly cleanups along the Tennessee River,
where he and his team have removed over 50,000 pounds of trash.
Additionally, he has worked to place 160 fishing line collection bins across Tennessee to
prevent wildlife entanglement, so far repurposing over 8,000 miles of fishing line into fish
habitats. His efforts highlight the importance of preserving freshwater ecosystems and the
interconnectedness of marine and freshwater health.
Outside of Roots & Shoots, Cash enjoys speaking to school children, civic leaders, and
businesses to inspire action. He collaborates with Tennessee State Parks and various
organizations to amplify his impact.
“We cannot live without healthy freshwater, PERIOD. Every living being is directly affected by
our rivers and oceans,” Cash emphasizes.
