The Problem
MightyAI Stems is working to solve an important problem in lower-income neighborhoods that often have way fewer trees and parks than wealthier areas. This "green space gap" leads to several challenges: these neighborhoods get much hotter in summer (called "heat islands"), have worse air quality, and residents face more health issues like asthma and heat-related illnesses. It also affects property values and means fewer nice outdoor spots where neighbors can gather and kids can play. This situation has developed over time due to past planning decisions that overlooked certain communities, limited budgets for tree maintenance, and traditional tree-planting programs that don't always consider what different neighborhoods actually need. When some communities have less access to nature than others, it creates another barrier to equal opportunities and healthy living conditions for everyone.
