The Problem

Parks in the U.S. are under threat, facing budget cuts and staff layoffs. Our parks are too vital to be lost, as they protect wildlife, preserve natural beauty, and provide spaces for education and recreation.

Our Plan

Students involved in Roots & Shoots at Global Idea School organized a bake sale to support and protect National Parks. The profits $420 dollars, was donated to the National Park Foundation to aid conservation efforts.

Here is how the project went:

Together we raised 420 dollars with a bake sale organized by Roots and shoots students.

Through this project I/we learned:

"This project taught us that giving up one recess per week and planning ahead as a team led to a successful fundraising initiative that made a meaningful impact in our school community."

What I/we might change:

Do this project at the cafeteria with more space.

My/our favorite part of this project was:

Working all together and seeing the students managing the money from the sale in an organized way.

Some tips, tricks or fun facts about the project:

"The students loved collaborating and discovered the power of teamwork—knowing that together, they were helping something bigger than themselves."
