Soil Quality

The Problem

My group has chosen to address soil quality. We will be composting and adding worms to our soil. We will test the soil multiple times during the year to see if the addition of worms and compost affected the soil quality. Students will go out to our school garden and test soil and bring samples back to the lab to investigate further. We will turn the data collected into a long-term science investigation.

Our Plan

We would like to help remedy poor soil quality by providing nutrients back into the soil through adding worms and compost. Adding Earthworms into our garden soil will help decompose dead organisms and increase the quality of the soil. Composting will also help our school be more sustainable.
