Yoyo is a vibrant Roots & Shoots leader passionate about the environment and making a difference.
Yoyo is the recipient of a Roots & Shoots USA Youth Leader Grant which helped her expand her project supporting local shelters for humans and for animals.
Yoyo and fellow RSYC member, Victoria, collected and donated much-needed sanitary kits, supplies, and clothes to a women’s shelter, art therapy supplies to a children’s center, and food and supplies to an animal shelter.
Yoyo has represented JGI at various events around the country, helping others discover the same opportunities to grow through Roots & Shoots that she’s had. Yoyo is an accomplished Japanese zither player, enjoys creating art, and exploring her community’s lookout spots.
Dr. Jane Goodall shared with Yoyo a Native American proverb that keeps her spirit bright during challenging times: “The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears.”
