Virginia uses her passion for conservation and storytelling to inspire action and awareness.
As a conservation storyteller, Virginia is driven by a passion for amplifying lesser-heard voices and reimagining how we connect to the natural world.
With Roots & Shoots, she’s spent the last six years bridging science, media, and advocacy to inspire community-based action. A recent graduate of William & Mary, with a degree in Integrative Conservation and Film & Media Studies, Virginia uses film as a tool for environmental change. As a RSYC Fellow, she is focused on developing and promoting stories that highlight the intersection of youth leader projects.
Virginia interned with the World Wildlife Fund, where she interviewed with global conservation leaders and translated complex environmental work into accessible narratives for web and social audiences. She also produced two short documentaries for William & Mary’s Institute for Integrative Conservation, spotlighting interdisciplinary conservation research on both local and global scales.
She also co-hosted a Roots & Shoots table at ClydeFest, a NC folk art festival for children, where she shared Jane Goodall’s message of hope and empowerment with families in her hometown. In her spare time, Virginia is an avid rock climber and outdoor enthusiast. She finds joy in exploring nature and traveling as much as possible.
Virginia shares: “Think boldly! No idea is too small or too big. With grit and determination, nothing can stop you.”
