Serena is a passionate wildlife conservationist and talented nature photographer. A Roots & Shoots member since 2021, she was awarded a Roots & Shoots grant to establish a native pollinator garden which showcases her commitment to biodiversity.
Serena’s current Roots & Shoots project focuses on advocating for bird conservation through sustainable urban development, addressing the issue of bird window collisions on her college campus.
Serena also serves as VP of Recruitment and Membership for an environmental education club and volunteers at a local nature center. In her free time, Serena enjoys hiking, wildlife photography, music, and reading. Serena even recently organized a fundraiser for a local wildlife hospital by selling her prints.
When describing her interest in photography, Serena says: “Art has such a strong power to connect to people and encapsulate the complexities of different issues.”
