Ozi embodies entrepreneurship and collective action in the face of environmental challenges.
Ozi founded an environmental club at her school that grew into a chapter of the national Youth Climate Institute.
Their first major initiative involved planting over 50 trees on her high school’s campus. Currently, the group is using a Roots & Shoots grant to plant and sustain a campus pollinator garden. Her school is now greener, and the garden supports the local ecosystem – a testament to the power of collective action.
In addition to her environmental work, Ozi runs a small crochet business, which allows her to express herself creatively. She is currently working on a wildlife crochet project to raise awareness of environmental issues. Ozi is an active mentor, known for fostering collaboration and motivating peers. In her free time, she enjoys watching TV and playing Roblox.
“The people and the community of JGI is truly what makes R&S special to me, I have made such incredible friends on the council who I love so dearly.” Ozi says about Roots & Shoots.
