Oona is driven to make her community and region a healthier place through environmental policies and collaborative action.
This past year, Oona worked with two other RSYC members to organize in-person and online tri-state youth climate summits, bringing together hundreds of young people to learn about and act on climate issues.
During a virtual climate panel session, Oona taught elementary school students about native species and each student was able to make their own bee hotel to put in their yard.
Outside of Roots & Shoots, Oona is a college student majoring in Climate and Sustainability. She is the Education Chair of her university’s Sustainable Energy club, where she finds speakers to talk to club members about clean energy. Along with her environmental work, Oona loves to dance, hiking, and backpacking.
