Maddy is an advocate for pollinators and community engagement through creative environmental projects.
Maddy’s primary project, The Thriving Hive Project, raises awareness about pollinators by creating drought-resistant gardens and selling merchandise to fund education and outreach.
A sophomore in college, Maddy recently launched Abundance for Aide with her sisters, donating backyard produce to food banks and shelters around Los Angeles. Maddy also consults on a peer’s initiative, Redorm, which upcycles dorm appliances for affordable resale to students.
Outside of Roots & Shoots, Maddy serves as DEI Chair for her business fraternity, interns in marketing and sales, and works on campus as an admin assistant. She enjoys ceramics, fashion, and outdoor adventures.
Maddy advises: “Start with something you’re passionate about and build from there. Don’t be afraid to take risks or make mistakes—it’s all part of the process.”
